Gaalgui - Beaufort03 - Nieuwpoort/Belgium

For the triennial sculpture exhibition 'Beaufort03' Philip Aguirre made Gaalgui.
The Gaalgui sculpture was made according to the technique and the use of the Senegalese pirogues. 
For this project Philip Aguirre travelled to M'Bour in Senegal to create this work together with the local fishermen and craftsmen. 
Since the end of the exhibition 'Beaufort03', Nieuwpoort has the work on long term loan from the artist.
